Universal Music Publishing Group will be rolling out an online portal for its songwriters and other customers to track and analyze their royalties. The publisher calls the new system RoyaltyWindow.com.

UMPG chairman/CEO David Renzer, who is in Cannes today for the MIDEM conference, says he believes that the trasnparency of the system is unprecedented among major music publishers. The proprietary system was built by the publisher's in-house IT team led by Mike Donegan, senior VP global IT in the United Kingdom.

The system will permit users to, among other things:

. Download and save statements in a spreadsheet format compatible with money management software;
. Sort data by income type and source of income;
. Illustrate and track income history through chats and graphs; and
. Save statements in digital form.

The publisher expects the system, currently being being tested by some of its custmers, to be available by third quarter this year.
