Neil Gillis, president of S1 Songs America, has joined the National Music Publishers' Assn. board of directors. He fills the vacancy left by Arnold Broido, president of Theodore Presser Co., who died last October.
Gillis was president/CEO of Dimensional Music Publishing, the predecessor of S1 Songs America. Before joining Dimensional, Gillis was the East Coast GM for Concord Music Group after having spent 16 years with Warner/Chappell Music. Gillis has also served as hed of international for BMI.
Gillis is also a composer, classically trained French horn player and jazz guitarist. He serves on the boards of the BMI Foundation, the New York Chapter of the Assn. of Independent Music Publishers and the Johnny Mercer Foundation.
Board members are active U.S. music publishers and serve two-year terms.
