Peter Ende, president and CEO of EMI Music Publishing Continental Europe, has stepped down after 28 years with the company.

He will remain in his post until the end of November and will then have a consultancy role.

European execs at EMI Music Publishing will report to chairman and CEO Roger Faxon and chief operating officer Leo Corbett in New York during the transition period.

Ende, who was based in Hamburg, joined as managing director of EMI Music Publishing's German business in 1980.

He was promoted to his current role from president and CEO for Germany, Switzerland and Austria in 2004, and took responsibility for new business development and for the creative aspects of the business, including A&R strategy and the exploitation of EMI's catalog.

Ende began his career in the German music business as an economist at Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft/Siemens in the late Sixties. He is also a board member of German collecting society GEMA.
