ABKCO Music, Inc., a leading independent music publisher based in New York, has tapped Alfred Publishing to be exclusive licensing agent for its physical and digital print rights for the ABKCO catalog.

ABKCO's catalog includes songs composed by Sam Cooke, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Bobby Womack, and Ray Davies. The deal with Alfred Publishing continues an ongoing relationship that in the past saw publication of "Sam Cooke: Portrait of A Legend 1951-1964, and "the Rolling Stones Fake Book (1963-1971).

The ABKCO-Alfred alliance marks the first time the entire ABKCO catalog, including such classics as "A Change Is Gonna Come," "You Send Me," "Bittersweet Symphony, "96 Tears" plus many hundreds of other songs, will be available digitally. The two companies are also working together on interactive projects that promise to place ABKCO songs on new platforms that relate directly to music students, according to a document announcing the deal.

Alfred Publishing, founded in 1922, is and educational and print music publisher with offices in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Cologne, London, Singapore and Sydney.
