Stereophonics and Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) have added to their existing music publishing agreement with a new long-term extension. The deal sees UMPG continue to administer the band's catalogue and future works around the world.

"Stereophonics have written so many great songs over the years and 9 million album sales plus the recent success of their 'Best Of' speaks for itself," said Paul Connolly, president of Europe and UK, Universal Music Publishing Group in a statement. "I am delighted that we are going to continue our successful relationship with the band and look forward to achieving more success with them in the future."

The news follows the November release of a ten-year retrospective "Decade In the Sun: The Best of Stereophonics" (Mercury/Universal), which has now reached double platinum in the U.K.

In the band's career, it has released 20 top 20 hits, ten of which reached the top five.
