Cherry Lane Music Publishing has signed the husband and wife songwriting team of Sam and Annie Tate to a long-term, worldwide co-publishing agreement. The contract covers all new compositions going forward from the signing.

Among the country artists who have recorded songs the Tates have written are in the past are: Rodney Atkins, Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, Collin Raye, Gary Allen, Joe Nichols, Emerson Drive, Mark Wills, Montgomery Gentry, Buddy Jewell, Ty Herndon, Kevin Sharp, Sammy Kershaw, and Chad Brock.

The Tate's have been awarded more than a dozen gold, platinum and multi-platinum records; and they have received two Nashville Songwriters' Association Creativity Awards as well as two ACM nominations for song of the year. In 2006 the Tates were named SESAC's songwriters of the year and their music has been used in numerous television programs and movies.

"Sam and Annie are one of the most powerful songwriting duos in Nashville," Cherry Lane's head of Nashville and director of creative and marketing Michelle Berlin said in a statement. "I am very excited to be working with these gifted writers who are such a colorful centerpiece in the Nashville songwriting community."

Sam and Annie Tate issued a joint statement on the signing: "We are thrilled to become a part of this talented team and are humbled and honored to be walking in the shadows of some of the giants this company represents. We sincerely hope to produce for Cherry Lane the country catalog it deserves."
