Bug Music Publishing has purchased Perma Music, the legendary cult film
music catalog of renowned composer Ronald Stein, who composed scores for many of Roger Corman's B-movie classics. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

But the catalog includes music from about 100 feature films including "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman," Francis Ford Coppola's "Dementia 13" and Richard Rush's "Psych-Out."

Stein, who passed away in 1988, was known for his pioneering avant-garde approach which perfectly matched the visuals of the productions, always using full orchestras to give his scores their renowned sonic depth. The Perma Music catalog will be managed by Selectracks, Bug Music’s Los Angeles-based production library division.

“The music of composer Ronald Stein is iconic,” Bug Music president David
Hirshland said in a statement. “His scores flawlessly capture the classic
pulp-era of film. With his rich organic orchestration, Stein visualized a
truly unique range of musical elements writing across a variety of genres,
themes, emotions and ambience. His music continues to withstand the test of time.”
