Alan Ett Creative Group (AECG Group) and the UK-based Cutting Edge Group have formed AE2 Music, a co-venture that will market the music of both companies to the film, television and commercial industries.

Under the deal, the companies each retain the rights to their respective catalogs. AE2 Music will market the catalogs in the UK and the AECG Group of companies will represent the catalogs in the U.S.

The AECG Group of companies includes Alan Ett Music Group, a music production, clearance and administration company; and Opus 1 Music which, in addition to distributing its own music library internationally, is the exclusive U.S. distributor for fourteen European music library labels; AE2 Music and the AECG Group.

The Cutting Edge Group includes Air-Edel, the composer management arm represents artists such as Dario Marianelli, 2008 Oscar winner for the original score for "Atonement," and Air-Edel studios, founded by George Martin.

The London office of AE2 Music will be headed by Gareth Owen, formerly of Universal, BMG and Zomba Production Music. "Where AE2 Music differs is in our adaptability," Owens said. "We have a comprehensive collection of works already licensed under the MCPS and have the set-up to create bespoke and tailored pieces."
