The songwriters and producers of the internationally successful German pop group Tokio Hotel have signed an exclusive publishing contract with the Kobalt Music Group in Berlin.

David Jost, Dave Roth and Pat Benzner have agreed a deal that provides for the administration and marketing of synch rights, as well as the administration of rights to the existing Tokio Hotel catalog and all their new works for the entire world excluding Germany.

The deal was announced by Willard Ahdritz, the founder and CEO of Kobalt Music Group in New York, and Matthias Kind, managing director of Kobalt Music Group Germany in Berlin.

"We are thrilled to be able to welcome David, Dave and Pat to our roster of renowned songwriters and producers. Kobalt will be offering them not only a unique central administration platform but also the service of a global team of experienced industry professionals," Ahdritz said in a statement.

Kind added: "It was a hotly contested deal and we are pleased that we have been able to convince David, Dave and Pat of the merits of our offer." Financial details were not disclosed.

The trio has also written tracks for Adam Lambert, Kerli, Sarah Brightman and Keri Hilson, as well as composing music for major TV campaigns for BMW, Mercedes and Motorola and producing remixes for Mötley Crüe, Jewel, Laura Pausini and Faith Hill.

In April 2010, Jost, Roth and Benzner received the coveted GEMA Music Authors Award in Berlin.
