-- The Harry Fox Agency will provide administration services to MediaNet, ensuring that the digital service provider is properly licensed and can make timely and accurate royalty payments and reports to copyright owners.

"Both HFA's licensing and administration services help to streamline our back-office operations, so that we can focus on providing premium digital content and innovative features to our customers worldwide," MediaNet CEO Alan McGlade said in a statement.

In another deal, Madacy will use HFA's bulk licensing services to obtain mechanical licenses for ringtones offered in the United States.

-- Cherry Lane Music Publishing -- through its joint venture with Lava Music Publishing -- has signed worldwide multi-year publishing deals with Alysha Brillinger and Throwing Gravity frontman Nick Newhouse. Brillinger is signed to the Lava label, and Throwing Gravity's debut album, "Wake Up," will be released later this month on Lava/Universal.

-- Bluewater Music has signed a worldwide administration and creative placement agreement with Ash Street Music, which has a catalog that includes songs penned by Monty Holmes, Greg Crowe, Ronnie Laws and Andi Zack, as well as singles from George Strait, Randy Travis, Josh Thompson and Will Hoge.

-- Songwriters interested in attending the ASCAP Foundation 2010 Lester Sill Songwriters Workshop have until Aug. 27 to make submissions. Geared toward advanced songwriters, the workshop will take place at ASCAP's Los Angeles office beginning in mid-October for a series of eight sessions.

The workshop will feature prominent guests from various facets of the music business. Past guests have included Sir George Martin, Don Was, Rick Nowels, Glen Ballard, Jackson Browne, Linda Perry, Billy Steinberg, John Shanks, Kara DioGuardi, Ben Harper, Jonatha Brooke, Matthew Wilder, John Rzeznik, and Greg Wells.
