Abd Al Malik and co-writer Bilal have signed a long-term publishing agreement with BMG Rights Management France.

The deal covers both Malik's future output as an artist/writer and the duo's future work together for writing and production.

Abd Al Malik is one of the biggest urban acts in France withing hip hop and R&B. His last two Albums "Gibraltar" (2006) and "Dante" (2008) - which were co-written by his brother Bilal - moved around 200,000 units and 100,000 units respectively, according to BMG.

Originally signed to the Atmosphériques label, Abd Al Malik is now signed to Universal Records' inprint Barclay.

BMG reported that Malik is in the studio recording his next album which is scheduled for release in November 2010 and which will also be co-written with Bilal. The album is produced by Gonzales (Feist, Jane Birkin, Christophe Willem).

"After the acquisition of De Palmas's catalog Sur La Route, Editions Louis Chedid, and Robert Goldman's catalogs Music Addict and PRK Music, as well as the signing of several development acts and writer/producers, the signing of Abd Al Malik marks BMG France's venture into high profile artists and writers", said Hartwig Masuch, CEO BMG Rights Management, in a statement.
