Elvis Presley Estate Sued For $130 Million By King's 'Real Daughter'

Imagem Signs Presley/Gladys Agreement

Imagem Music USA has signed a worldwide music administration agreement with Elvis Presley Music/Gladys Music catalog, co-owned by the Elvis Presley Enterprises and the families of the late publishing executives, Jean and Julian Aberbach. The deal, which includes over 1,000 songs recorded by Presley, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole and others, becomes effective on Jan. 1, 2012. The catalog's songs include "All Shook Up," "Love Me Tender," "A Little Less Conversation," "Jailhouse Rock," "Return to Sender," and "Can't Help Falling in Love." In a joint statement, Imagem Music Group CEO André de Raaff and Imagem Music U.S. president Richard Stumpf, said, "Elvis Presley defines rock 'n' roll, and his songs are loved all over the world. We …will ensure the songs are promoted and managed in a manner suitable for the King."

TuneSat To Track Use Of Zappa Songs

The Zappa Family Trust has chosen TuneSat to track the use of Frank Zappa's extensive music catalog, on television broadcasts around the world. Songtrust Announces Indaba Partnership

Songtrust, an online rights management service for independent songwriters, has announced a partnership with Indaba Music, a social networking website for musicians, to provide administration services at a discount to Indaba's community members for their original compositions. Songtrust, created by Downtown Music, will also promote Indaba to its affiliated songwriters and independent music publishers. The partnership launches with a contest whereby Indaba members can submit an original song, with the winner receiving a trip to New York for a Songwriter Development Day, one-on-one with Songtrust and Indaba, and a studio session with engineer Zach Hancock (who has worked with Alicia Keys, Mos Def, and Kid Sister), according to the announcement. Def Leppard's Phil Collen Signs With pigFACTORY

Phil Collen of Def Leppard has signed with pigFACTORY Music to a worldwide publishing administration deal for all songs that he writes with songwriter partner C.J. Vanston, who signed with the publisher earlier this year. Together Collen and Vanston have an upcoming cut on Japanese singer Risa Hirako's new album on Avex Records.
