France's SACEM Names Jean Noel Tronc Chairman
French authors, composers and publishers collecting society SACEM named Jean Noel Tronc to replace Bernard Miyet, the current chairman of the management board who did not apply for a new mandate. Myet has held the position since 2000.
Jean Noel Tronc, 43, is the former director of France's leading ISP Orange, and as of late has overseen international operations of France's paid TV channel Canal +. Prior to that Tronc advised French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin on new technology and telecom.
Tronc will assume the chairmanship at the end of Miyet's mandate in June 2012; he has been appointed SACEM's director general, a different job title than Miyet's. SACEM is taking advantage of the change to simplify its organizational structure.
