J.J. Cheng, the long-time Associate VP of SESAC Latina, has been promoted to VP, writer/publisher relations for the organization.

Cheng will continue to oversee SESAC Latina's staff and working with other SESAC departments in generating opportunities for Latin writers.

Cheng joined SESAC in 2002 as Senior Director for SESAC Latina before being promoted to Associate VP in 2009. During her tenure, she has noticeably grown the size, visibility and scope of the performing rights organization's Latin department, creating signature events and signing writers like Fonseca, German Montero, Enrique Bunbury, Jencarlos Canela, Carlos Baute, Samo Parra, Aleks Syntek, Joey Montana and Jesus Navarro, among others.

"J. J. has proven to be a valuable leader with a great eye for talent," said Trevor Gale, Senior Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations. "She has shown a natural ability for working with creative talent and has been instrumental in the growth of SESAC Latina."
Cheng will continue to be based in Los Angeles, reporting to Gale.
