Trent Reznor, Madonna, Mary J. Blige, More Lead Golden Globe Music Nominations

Trent Reznor, the lead singer from Nine Inch Nails and co-composer of massive movie soundtracks such as "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning "The Social Network" score will be honored by ASCAP with is Golden Note Award at the organization's 29th annual Pop Music Awards April 18.

Carly Simon To Be Honored by ASCAP

Reznor's merits in the music industry are plentiful, with a number of high-charting Billboard hits with Nine Inch Nails in addition to his movie score success. The ASCAP Golden Note Award is presented each year to a composer or artist who has achieved "significant career milestones," with past winners including noted producer Quincy Jones, Billboard SXSW Showcase headliner and recent cover star Lionel Richie, and performers Elton John and Tom Petty.

"As the creative genius behind the pioneering industrial rock group Nine Inch Nails and one of the most innovative and cutting-edge songwriter-composers of any genre, Trent Reznor continues to blaze trails into uncharted musical territory," said ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams in a statement. "We're thrilled to honor him with the prestigious Golden Note Award for his achievements in songwriting and his award-winning film scores."

ASCAP had previously announced they would be honoring Carly Simon with the Founders Award at the event, which brings together the songwriters and performers of the most popular pop songs of the year.
