John Ehmann has been promoted to vice president of A&R at Interscope Geffen A&M.
The former director of A&R joined the company in 2011, and has since signed and developed such acts as Lana Del Rey, Aloe Blacc and Cedric Gervais. He also shepherded Carly Rae Jepsen’s album "Kiss," which included the hit single “Call Me Maybe,” to market.
“John has an incredible ear and eye for talent, and I’m pleased to see him step up into a bigger role at the company,” said new IGA chairman and CEO John Janick in a statement. "He’s an instrumental part of our team here, and his commitment to his artists can’t be overstated."
The 31-year-old Ehmann began his career in the music business in 2004 as an intern at J records prior to the label's merger with RCA.
