An announcement from Ultra Music Festival organizers claims that Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado and the city Commissioner, Marc Sarnoff, have withdrawn their call to ban the festival from returning.
A request for comment and confirmation from city officials was not immediately returned.
The event drew criticism after a security guard was trampled after ticketless fans rushed a fence to gain entry. 76 arrests took place during the event and over 100 people required attention from medical staff onsite. A 21-year-old fan also died during, but ouside, the event. The exact cause of his death is still unknown.
Coachella, considered the most successful music festival in the world, begins today.
