Jem Aswad, former editor-in-chief of SPIN, has left the company, Billboard has confirmed.
"We're very proud of the work the SPIN team has done since we acquired the brand in July 2012, and we're excited that their efforts have helped grow its audience more than 20% since then (ComScore, multi-platform)," SpinMedia told Billboard. "We recently reached a mutual agreement with Jem to part ways, and we wish him the best."
Aswad, who was appointed EIC following Caryn Ganz's departure in June of last year, was previously the editor at Billboard.biz. Before that, he held positions at MTV News and TimeOut New York.
