SXSW Crash Victim Dies After Hospitalization (Report)

A third person has died due to injuries resulting from a driver speeding into a crowd late last Thursday night during SXSW in Austin, CNN is reporting. It's the third death to result from the attack in which 23 people were hospitalized. The name of the victim was made public in a tweet from the Austin Police Department (below).

SXSW Car Crash: Suspect, Victim Identified

According to Statesman.com, Le had recently moved to Austin in the hopes of attending school there. “Anybody who had the privilege of knowing her would tell you she’s just full of life,” a family member told Statesman.com “Not to sound cliché, she would just brighten up a room when she would walk in. She had an amazing quirkiness about her that was irreplaceable."

The question of additional capital murder charges against suspect Rashad Owens is still being considered. "Texas State law requires two or more deaths in the same criminal transaction for the filing of a capital murder charge," according to a release from the Austin Police Department.

Owens is currently being held on a bond of $3 million in Travis County jail.
