YouTube has appointed Christophe Muller as its new director of global music partnerships, Billboard has learned. He fills the role previously held by Chris Maxcy, who has taken on a broader role within Google.

Muller is a 10–year veteran of Google who joined the company out of its London office in 2003. Currently based in Paris, he most recently served as director of YouTube partnerships for the Southern Europe, Africa and Middle East (EMEA) region. Muller will be responsible for managing relationships with YouTube's global music channels, many of which rank among YouTube's most-watched – Vevo, Warner Music,The Orchard and INDmusic among them.

Before joining Google, Muller held senior roles at internet companies like Priceline.com Europe and worked in business/corporate development throughout the U.S., Germany and France. Muller hails from Strasbourg, France, and earned his undergraduate degree in economics and graduate degree in finance at French universities.
