DJs John Kennedy (XFM) and Alice Levine (BBC Radio 1) have been announced as the hosts of the fourth-annual AM Independent Music Awards. The event is scheduled to take place on September 2 at the Brewery in Clerkenwell, London.

The annual show gives out awards in the following categories: Best Live Act, Independent Breakthrough of the Year, Hardest Working Band or Artist, Best 'Difficult' Second Album, Independent Album of the Year and 11 more, including a Pioneer Award that goes to someone with an outstanding legacy in the independent music business.
“After the success of so many independent artists in 2013," said Alison Wenham, chairman of AIM, in a statement, "we are looking forward to another year when the independents triumph. The AIM Awards is the only music show to give British artists a stage uncluttered by American acts, and to shine a spotlight on the truly brilliant British independent record industry.
The U.K. trade body, founded in 1999, represents 850 members including XL, Rough Trade, Bella Union and more.
