Kobalt Music Group stalwart Sas Metcalfe has been promoted from executive VP creative to the newly-created role of president, global creative.
In a statement, Kobalt founder and CEO Willard Ahdritz explains that Metcalfe’s elevation is reward not only for her hard work but “also the continuing growth of the company’s expansive and important global roster.”
L.A.-based Metcalfe continues her responsibilities managing Kobalt’s global 18-person creative services team and is responsible for Kobalt’s creative deals, including new signings, acquisitions and identifying new partnerships with emerging publishers.
She also oversees artist, writer and producer collaborations and development for both direct signings plus the talent rosters of some of Kobalt’s publishing company clients.
Metcalfe joined Kobalt from EMI Records U.K. where she was head of A&R. Earlier, she served as head of A&R for Warner Chappell Music Publishing U.K. over an eight-year period.
At Kobalt, she reports to Richard Sanders, president of Kobalt Music Group.
“One of my biggest pleasures at Kobalt is to promote great people and promoting Sas, my first employee in 2001,” comments Ahdritz, “is outstanding.”
