New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has issued a proclamation honoring the Association of Independent Music Publishers. Deputy Mayor Haeda Mihaltses will present the proclamation during a luncheon on June 18.

Other speakers and attendees at the function will include chief executive officers of EMI Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing, Sony/ATV Music and others representing the music publishing interests of numerous acclaimed songwriters and artists including the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Irving Berlin and Bob Dylan.

The New York branch of the Association of Independent Music Publishers was originally founded in 1992; its primary focus is to educate and inform locally-based music publishers about the issues, opportunities and practices confronting the business by providing a forum to discuss contemporary conditions.
