Anatomy of a Synch: How Caveman's 'My Time' Landed in the 'I Love New York' Campaign (and 6,000 Taxis)

New York five-piece Caveman announced today that they've signed to Fat Possum Records. The signing includes the band themselves, in addition to their own label, Magic Man!.

In concurrence with the signing announcement, Fat Possum rereleased Caveman's 2011 full-length "CoCo Beware" on their website. "CoCo" was originally released in November via Magic Man! and Org Music, the latter of which has released CDs and LPs from artists like the Replacements, Tom Petty, Sonic Youth, Teenage Fanclub, and Nirvana.

At Fat Possum, Caveman joins the ranks of artists like the Black Keys, Smith Westerns, Yuck, Wavves, Band of Horses, and the Walkmen, all of whom have released records on the Mississippi-based label. Following a string of January and February dates, the chamber-pop/soft-prog rock quintet will be hitting SXSW in March.
