Domino Records Releasing Flexi Disc Zine For Record Story Day

Indie label Domino records and its subsidiary Ribbon Music today announced they are releasing a zine/flexi disc exclusively for 2012's Record Store Day. The five individual, multi-colored discs will contain exclusive, unreleased tracks by label artists Dirty Projectors, Real Estate, Cass McCombs, John Maus and Villagers.

The fifth annual Record Store Day, which celebrates all things music retail, happens this year on April 21. The event features exclusive and limited products both from independent and major labels.
The zine, entitled "Smugglers Way" is 24 pages long and features original art and prose from Domino and Ribbon artists, including written pieces by James Yorkston, Laura Marling, Alex Bleeker of Real Estate), Clinic's Ade Blackburn, and the Wild Beasts' Tom Fleming. Illustrations by the Kills' Alison Mosshart, Twin Sister's Andrea Estella as well as photos by Lower Dens' Jana Hunder will also be featured along with an original score by Owen Pallett. SEEN's Rob Carmichael oversaw the zine's art direction and layout which includes Black Dice's Bjorn Copeland's cover design.
