Brooklyn-based independent label Fool's Gold announced today it is launching a premium digital subscription service called The Goldmine.
The new service will provide access to new Fool's Gold music as high quality 320 mp3 / WAV downloads, plus extras, including hand-picked selections from the label's back catalog, exclusive content (remixes, a cappella tracks, DJ sets), merchandise discounts, priority access to events, and, according to a press release "other surprises the Fool's Gold braintrust decides to cook up."
The Goldmine digital subscription service will be powered by drip.fm.
Fool's Gold'sroster that includes Kid Cudi, Chromeo, Cool Kids, Flosstradamus, Duck Sauce, Danny Brown, Count & Sinden, Kid Sister, and Lil B. The label also has its own retail space in Williamsburg with music and such branded items as a Members Only leather jacket, AiAiAi headphones and coffee mugs.
In a statement, Fool's Gold co-founder Nick Catchdubs spoke about drip.fm. "[It's] elegant and easy," he said. "It's a service that A-Trak and I already use as DJs and fans, so adding Fool's Gold to the mix was a perfect fit. The Gold is going to give longtime Fool's Gold supporters even more music to dig, as well as turn on new fans to artists they might not have checked out otherwise."
The release also pointed to a stream of Brodinski's Danny Brown remix here.
