Universal Music Group International is bolstering its global audio-visual activities with the appointment of former Warner Vision International president Ray Still as a consultant to its board.

In his new, immediately-effective role, Still becomes involved in all facets of the major's strategy in acquiring and developing audio-visual content, and its global marketing.

"Ray is the best in the business, as well as being a winner. We like winners," comments Lucian Grainge, chairman/CEO of Universal Music Group International, in a statement.

Still adds, "Our goal is to bring Universal Music's DVD market share in line with its outstanding audio market share."

Still helmed Warner Vision International from its launch in 1998, until recently. During his tenure, he oversaw hit DVD releases by Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel, the Rolling Stones, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madonna, R.E.M., Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, The Who and Simply Red and the historic Live Aid concerts.
