Hi-Fi, the U.K.'s annual dance festival, will not return in 2007.

The festival, organized by the Mean Fiddler Group and dance promoters, Angel Music Group, ran under the name Homelands from 1999 to 2005. The event was staged in 2006 over two sites, one in Winchester in the south of England, and one near Newcastle upon Tyne, in the north. In a bid to broaden appeal, the 2006 line-up included dance-friendly alternative acts such as Ian Brown and Hard Fi alongside Lemon Jelly, Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox. Poor ticket sales last year have been blamed for this year's cancellation.

Angel Music Group told Billboard.biz that they cancelled Hi-Fi to concentrate on the Global Gathering, the UK's largest dance weekender with a capacity of 50,000. This year's edition takes place near Stratford upon Avon, in the Midlands, on July 27 and 28.
