Michael Jackson has arrived in Tokyo ahead of two events, which he will attend here on March 8 and 9. The singer was originally scheduled to appear at two events in Tokyo in December, but they were postponed.

"I'm happy to be home," Jackson was quoted as telling several hundred fans who greeted him at Narita airport yesterday (March 4).

On March 8, Jackson will host a "Premium V.I.P." Party" at Tokyo's Shinkiba Studio Coast club at which guests will pay ¥400,000 ($3,426) each to meet and pose for photographs with Jackson. The event, at which Jackson will not perform, will also feature a gospel choir, a band and dance performances.

The next day Jackson will host a fan art contest at the same venue. Tickets for that event cost ¥15,000 ($128.48).
