Warner Music International digital music veteran Eric Daugan has added stripes.

The music major today elevated Daugan to VP, digital business for its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Daugan, who until now was WMI's VP of digital marketing, will widen his duties to include business development and retain tasks for digital marketing.

The existing digital marketing and business development teams now report to Daugan, who also oversees the digital accounts team.

"Combining these functions under Eric and pooling the creativity and experience that exists within each team significantly enhances our ability to respond to new opportunities in a digital environment where the lines between marketing and distributing content are increasingly blurred," comments John Reid, vice chairman, WMI and president, WM Europe, to whom Daugan reports.

Since joining the company in 1999, Daugan is credited with having played a key role in shaping a string of Warner Music's digital initiatives, including partnerships with France Telecom and Dailymotion in France and Telenor in Scandinavia.
