The Red Hot Chili Peppers have indefinitely postponed their scheduled shows in Tokyo and Osaka after lead singer Anthony Kiedis fell ill.

Kiedis is under doctors' order not to fly for 10 days due to bronchial pneumonia, according to Tokyo-based promotion company Smash.

The band had been set to perform at Osaka's Kyocera Dome on March 19 and at the Tokyo Dome March 22 and 23.

"Rescheduling of the performances will be announced as soon as possible once scheduling of the world tour can be confirmed," Smash said in the statement issued Saturday, adding that the shows will likely be rescheduled for this coming fall.
