Sony BMG Music Entertainment will further ramp its distribution of mobile music content in China via a new licensing agreement with Global Music International.

Bethel, Conn.-based Global Music International is a supplier of music content to China Unicom, China's second largest wireless carrier with more than 146 million subscribers.

The agreement between Sony BMG and Global Music International covers ringtones, ringback tones as well as music video and audio content. Sony BMG has been turning greater attention to the Chinese music market in recent months.

In January, Sony BMG and Warner Music Group invested in Chinese mobile media company Access China Media Solutions in a bid to expand the availability of mobile music in China.
