Matthieu Lauriot-Prevost has made a swift return to the record business.

The former EMI marketing executive has joined Warner Music International in the role as senior VP, marketing.

Based in London, Lauriot-Prevost will be responsible for all aspects of marketing and promotions across the international companies and its affiliates.

His duties include enhancing WMI's digital marketing expertise, breaking new artists on the global stage and co-ordinating international campaigns for established artists.

"We are very pleased to add such a seasoned, first-rate executive to our team," comments John Reid, vice chairman, of WMI and president for Warner Music Europe, to whom he reports.

"His extensive knowledge of the industry, strong leadership skills and passion for innovation make him a valuable asset in the ongoing transformation of our global business," Reid adds.

Lauriot-Prevost most recently served as senior VP of global marketing at EMI in London. As previously reported, he recently split with the major as part of a restructuring of the company's global marketing team.

Prior to joining EMI five years ago, he held posts as senior VP at Island Def Jam International in New York, and positions at BMG France, Polygram International, Polydor and Disney in Paris.
