MTV Networks International executive Bhavneet Singh has been promoted to senior VP and managing director of MTVNI's Emerging Markets group, revealed today.

He will continue to be based in London, and will report directly to Alex Ferrari, MTVNI's Chief Operating Officer.

Singh will be responsible for all aspects of MTVNI's business including music, kids and comedy brands in Eastern Europe and Middle East. He will also develop MTVNI's channels in key countries across emerging markets, and oversee the launch of mobile and online digital platforms.

Since joining MTVNI's Emerging Markets group as deputy GM early in 2006, Singh has overseen the launch of MTV Turkey and Comedy Central in Poland. He is currently in the process of establishing additional channels, including MTV Arabiya. MTVNI's Emerging Markets team currently operate 17 channels across the MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central brands.

Before joining Emerging Markets, Singh served as director, International sales strategy, for the corporate strategy group within MTVNI, working on strategic international projects. He has been with the company since 2004.

Prior to MTV Networks, he worked as a consultant to professional soccer club Manchester United PLC; as GM of sports, entertainment and media company IMG TWI in India; and as director of ad sales for the Discovery Channel in Asia.
