EMI Music Italy has re-jigged the management structure at its Milan headquarters, with immediate effect.

Essentially, the Virgin and Capitol labels are to function as one unit, the Capitol Music Group.

Marco Alboni, who was label director at Capitol, is promoted to GM, Capitol Music Group and deputy managing director EMI Music Italy. He will work alongside fellow deputy MD Fabrizio Giannini. Both men will report to MD Beppe Ciaraldi.

Mario Sala, label director at VIrgin Italy, is promoted to marketing director, Capitol Music Group, reporting to Alboni.

Claudia Lisa continues as business development and digital distribution director. She now reports to Ciaraldi. Previously, she had reported to VP commercial Maurizio Puntillo, who leaves the company.

Meanwhile, Fulvio Omegna is promoted from sales director to commercial director.

Cristina Gironi will continue as finance director, reporting to Ciaraldi. Previously she had reported to CFO Valerie Beneteau, who leaves the company.

In a statement, Emi Music Italy MD Beppe Ciaraldi says, "I strongly believe this team has the determination, the skills and the energy necessary for the step change we have to make."

In a separate statement, EMI Music International's chairman and CEO Jean-Francois Cecillon says, "I continue to be impressed with the leadership and citizenship that Beppe has displayed since taking the helm and with these organisational changes that he proposed and now delivered. He is building the EMI Music Italy of the new century."
