Universal Music stalwart Victor Antippas has been handed a promotion. With effect from May 1, Antippas will rise to senior VP, Universal Music Group International, and president of Nordic, Central and Eastern Europe.

Zurich, Switzerland-based Antippas will take responsibilities for the music major's affiliates in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in addition to his existing duties for companies in Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Hungary, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.

"Vico Antippas is one of our most experienced executives, who has made a real difference to the success of our businesses in Central and Eastern Europe, and it was logical to extend his area of responsibility," comments Max Hole, executive VP, A&R and marketing, UMGI, to whom Antippas reports.

"We're confident that his skills will enhance the companies which are newly under his supervision," Hole adds.

Antippas has served with Universal Music since 1983, most recently as senior VP, UMGI, central and eastern Europe.

His elevation comes on the heels of Theo Roos' exit as senior VP, UMGI, for the Nordic and Belgian region, and as president/CEO of Universal Music Netherlands.
