Paul Weller is to be feted during the O2 Silver Clef Luncheon in London on June 29.

The songwriter and guitarist who formed the Jam, Style Council and is now a successful solo artist, will be the recipient of the prestigious Silver Clef Award.

Seven other awards will be presented during the annual event, including best British band, best international and icon.

Sponsored by O2 for the past six years, the lunchtime gala raises funds for the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity, which uses music to heal and improve the quality of life of impaired adults and children. Last year's awards raised more than £465,000 ($920,000).

"I'm flattered to be awarded with this years Silver Clef Award - I look forward to the ceremony," Weller commented in a statement, adding, "this event is in aid of Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy which makes it even more worthwhile."

In separate news, Weller, who was bestowed the lifetime achievement award at the 2006 Brit Awards, is booked to perform at music trade fair Popkomm, which will roll out Sept. 19-21 in Berlin.
