Boston Red Sox pitcher Daisuke "Dice-K" Matsuzaka will release an album of his favorite songs next month.

"Music From the Mound" will be in stores July 17, EMI Music Marketing said Tuesday. The CD features a compilation of Matsuzaka's favorite and inspirational songs from American, English and Japanese recording artists.

It also features the new original track, "Gyro Ball," which includes guest performances by former J. Geils' harmonica player Magic Dick, former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, and Red Sox TV announcers Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy.

A portion of the proceeds from all albums sold, as well as the download of "Gyro Ball," will be donated to the Red Sox Foundation, the official team charity. "'Dice-K' has done a wonderful job putting together an album filled with great selections and diverse music," said Eli Okun, EMI special markets president, in a statement.

"Music From the Mound" will be distributed by EMI in the United States and by Toshiba/EMI in Japan.
