Hana Tabata will become director of Warner Music Japan's international division effective July 1, the Tokyo-based label said today.

Tabata, previously GM of Beggars Japan, replaces Junichi Miyaji, who has been appointed to the new position of senior chief producer in the strategic marketing department.

Tabata reports to WMJ president Takashi Yoshida, while Miyaji will report to strategic marketing GM Shun Mori.

Taking over from Tabata at Beggars is David Wasserman, who joined the label with Tabata after it was established by Warner Music International and Beggars Group U.K. in July 2006.

Tabata is the second woman to become the head of international repertoire at a major Japanese label in recent months, following the appointment of Sachiko Tsuchiya as CEO/managing director of Sony Music International Japan in April.
