Britain's Association of Independent Music has elevated Remi Harris from project manager to the new role of GM, effective immediately.

Based in London, Harris will manage the day-to-day running of AIM, and oversee its various activities, while working closely with AIM chairman and CEO Alison Wenham, to whom she reports.

Harris' promotion, explains Wenham, "is to recognize her outstanding contribution to the organization."

Having joined the trade body at its inception in 1999, Harris has played a key role in its ongoing development, including AIM's mentoring scheme, the Big Wednesday series of events and the monthly magazine for independent music companies "Independent Music", published with national Independent newspaper.

In a related development, AIM staff members Ellie Mules and Lara Baker have also risen in the ranks. Mules, association administrator, becomes member services manager, while Baker, membership and communication manager, is named AIM marketing and communications manager.

Mules and Baker report to Harris, and to Wenham on various duties.
