With four nominations, Justin Timberlake grabs pole position heading into the 14th annual MTV Europe Music Awards, to be held Nov. 1 at the Munich OlympiaHalle.

The former *NSYNC singer, who hosted the 2006 MTV EMAs in Copenhagen, is in the running for the video star award for "What Goes Around," the headliner award, ultimate urban act and solo artist of 2007.

Amy Winehouse, Avril Lavigne, Beyoncé, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Nelly Furtado and Rihanna each garner three nominations, which this year are decided entirely on a public vote.

Lavigne and My Chemical Romance have been added to the list of performers, which already includes the Foo Fighters and Mika.

MTV has also unveiled the 18 semi-finalists for its New Sounds of Europe Award category, details for which are available at the MTV EMAs Website or at handset manufacturer Sony Ericsson's online site. Sony Ericsson and clothing retailer Esprit are co-sponsors this year of MTV's flagship pan-European awards gala.
