Music production and management company Dexter Entertainment announced it has entered into a joint venture with Maximum Music Group to develop, produce and market soundtracks aimed at global markets.

The joint venture between the Vancouver-based companies will operate under the Dexter Soundtracks and Maximum Music for Film & Television banner. The first of many new projects under this initiative will be the music from the award-winning and controversial hit television series Dragon Boys.

The CBC-produced drama explores Asian organized crime, and recently won two Geminis, the Canadian version of the Emmy Awards. The soundtrack will be available for download on Oct. 30.

Maximum Music, which offers music management and distribution, was founded by former SL Feldman & Associates executive Brian Watson. The company recently launched a social networking site called Mymaxcast.com.

“Soundtracks and music for film have been the core fabric of Dexter Entertainment’s growth and have been essential in developing our music publishing and recorded music assets,” Dexter Entertainment president John Dexter said in a statement. “Our intention is to develop this partnership into a premier destination for movie music fans as well as major film studios and independent production companies as a B2B partner, releasing and marketing only the best music from visual media properties.”
