Digital music aggregator the Orchard has struck an exclusive worldwide deal with Sellaband.

Amsterdam-based Sellaband is the online music company which encourages the public to invest in unsigned artists, toward a goal of $50,000. The Orchard will handle digital marketing and distribution for those artists who reach the target.

"Our working with the Orchard is a perfect fit," comments Sellaband managing director Johan Vosmeijer in a statement. "They are the global leader in digital distribution and marketing but remain proudly independent, which is important to us. We can't wait to make our recordings available digitally."

French singer T-Ka recently became the eleventh artist to meet the $50,000 benchmark, since launching in August 2006.
