Reverend & The Makers and Richard Hawley are among the acts confirmed for the British Music at Midem event, a showcase for rising U.K. artists to perform for the global music industry.

British Music at Midem, which includes an acoustic set followed by the main showcase, will take place in the Hotel Martinez Ballroom on Jan. 28, 2008.

The main showcase, which is being produced by promoters Metropolis Music, also features the New York Fund and unsigned artist Tawiah. It will follow an acoustic showcase, featuring Beth Rowley and Jack Savoretti alongside unsigned acts Bailey Tzuke and Karl Morgan.

"Our presence at Midem is a great illustration of how U.K. Trade & Investment has helped bring the British Music Industry together under one banner at the world's biggest international music event," says Andrew Cahn, CEO of U.K. Trade & Investment, in a statement.

"Showcase events such as these are set to become the flagships of our new Creative Industries Marketing Strategy. What we have achieved here can serve as a blueprint for our work to bring the U.K.'s Creative Industries together at similar leading world events."

The British Music at Midem has been put together by AIM, the British Academy of Composers & Songwriters, British Music Rights, BPI, The BRIT Awards, MCPS-PRS Alliance, Music Matrix, Music Publishers Association, PPL, U.K. Trade & Investment and the Welsh Music Foundation.
