Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne will host the Brit Awards 2008 ceremony, which will be held at Earls Court on Feb. 20, organizers said today.

It will be the first time the notorious husband and wife pair have hosted the Brits. And the team behind the annual gala are anticipating the Osbournes' involvement will bring some extra color and thrills to the program.

In a statement issued today, Sharon Osbourne commented, "Ozzy and I have been asked to host many awards shows in the past but this is by far the most prestigious and meaningful, especially for Ozzy as it's about the music." She added, "Ozzy and I are proud to be Brits and are both incredibly honored to have been asked to help celebrate the best in music."

The annual ceremony, helmed by trade body the BPI and sponsored by MasterCard, will go out live on national network ITV1.

A Brits nominations party will roll-out at London's Roundhouse venue on Jan. 14, and will be televised on ITV2 later that night.

Earlier this week, the BPI unveiled a partnership with YouTube to create a dedicated channel, at YouTube.com/TheBritAwards. Visitors to the site are encouraged to upload a video testimony, from which four participants will be chosen to take part in the Brits Academy's voting panel, and attend the ceremony. The "Blag your way to the Brits" project closes Dec. 4.
