Warp Records-signed indie rockers Maximo Park will feature on the label of a limited-edition run of Newcastle Brown Ale bottles through a novel tie-in with brewers Scottish & Newcastle U.K.

Tens of thousands of "Maxïmo Brown Ale" bottles have been produced to commemorate the British band's homecoming gig, Dec. 15 at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena.

The special bottles will be available at the venue, and at non-specified bars around the country on the day.

"So many amazing things have happened for our band in a short space of time and to have our image emblazoned on a Brown label is another addition to that list," comments Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith in a statement.

"It would be great for our band to be as synonymous with Newcastle as the mighty Brown Ale," he adds, "and it's both amusing and an honour to be able to deface the label in this manner."

Maximo Park burst into the spotlight with their critically-acclaimed 2005 Warp debut, "A Certain Trigger", which peaked at No. 15 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart and went on to earn a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. Follow-up "Our Earthly Pleasures" peaked at No. 2 in Britain after its release in April.
