This year's Fuji Rock Festival will be held July 25-27 at the Naeba ski resort in Niigata Prefecture, northwest of Tokyo, promoter Smash Corp. has confirmed.

Tokyo-based Smash Corp. president Masahiro Hidaka says that because 2008 marks 150 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Britain, the festival's "Green Stage" will feature performances by Japanese and British bands on July 26.

Meanwhile, Tokyo-based concert promoter Wess Inc. has confirmed that another major Japanese summer music event, the Rising Sun Rock Festival 2008 in Ezo, will be held on Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido Aug. 15-16.

No artists have yet been confirmed for either festival.
