Björk and Maroon 5 will make their Chinese live debuts in March, Shanghai-based concert promoter Emma Ticketmaster said Jan. 24. Both acts are set to play one date each at the 4,000-capacity Shanghai International Gymnastics Center; Björk will perform March 2 and Maroon 5 on March 22.

Other international acts being brought to China by Emma in March include Harry Connick, Jr., and the Backstreet Boys. On March 9 Connick will perform his second-ever performance in Shanghai, again at the Shanghai International Gymnastics Center, followed by his debut show in Beijing at the Exhibition Center Theater.

The Backstreet Boys, who performed in Beijing and Shanghai in 2004 and 2006, are scheduled to perform at Nanjing Olympic Stadium on March 4 and the Hangzhou Dragon Arena on March 6.

"It's really exciting to have so many shows going on at the same time," said Emma Ticketmaster live event marketing director Robb Spitzer in a statement. "It's a banner year for Emma Ticketmaster."

Emma Ticketmaster was formed when U.S-based Ticketmaster acquired a majority stake in Hong Kong-based Emma Entertainment Holdings in May 2007.
