Belgium's long-established Rock Werchter festival has unveiled a family-friendly spin-off event, the Werchter Boutique festival, which will be staged on July 13.

Promoter Herman Schueremans, who organises the annual Rock Werchter festival for Live Nation says the new event will also include a playground and play-tent area plus children's catering and will provide seating on the festival site. The Werchter Boutique festival will follow Rock Werchter (July 3-6) -- which was launched in 1974 - on the same site in the Belgian village of Werchter.

"The idea is to offer a varied catalog in elegant style with fresh newcomers, world music and established values on two catwalk-stages," says Schueremans. "Werchter Boutique wants to become a family festival, combining attractive billing -- including Santana, Crowded House, Simply Red's Mick Hucknall, Dutch legends Doe Maar and German kids-sensation Tokio Hotel -- with kid-friendly ticket rates."

Tickets for children aged between 3 and 12 cost €20 ($30.60), while standard advance tickets cost €65 ($99.35).
