EMI Italy veteran Beppe Ciaraldi is to depart at the end of the month after 36 years with the firm.

Ciaraldi, who joined the company in 1972 and has been managing director since July 2004, will be succeeded by Marco Alboni, who has risen to head of A&R and chairman of EMI Italy, with immediate effect.

Alboni reports to Billy Mann, president A&R Labels international, and in his role as chairman to David Kassler, president Europe/Middle East/Africa.

Alboni, who has a background in A&R marketing, most recently served as GM of Capitol/Virgin Italy. He joined the group in 1996 as marketing director of Virgin Records Italy, and later became co-GM. In 2002, Alboni split with EMI to become an artist manager, returning three years later as director of Capitol Italy.
